The Army Painter - Warpaints Quickshade Ink Set

Just received a bunch of items from The Army Painter including their new Warpaint Quickshade Ink Set, Wargamer Most Wanted Brush Set and .  Over the next few weeks I will be experimenting with Quickshade ink set and brushes.  I haven't figured out what I will do with the dice yet, but they look good for 6-siders.

Mordheim & Frostgrave

Frostgrave has me collecting all sorts of figures for a Frostgrave warband.  What I have discovered is how so over priced Mordheim has become on Ebay.  It's crazy out there.  People are asking $30 - $100 for a single figure.  What are they smoking?  Why isn't GW seeing this and saying to themselves, hmmm maybe there is still demand for these figures.  I can not understand how they couldn't make money selling these to people who are willing to pay 3 times as much. 

Anyway here is a group of Mordheim Marienburg and Reiklander figures that I am going to try and replicate their paint jobs.

Gamezone Miniatures

In my never ending quest for cool miniatures I came across a company called Gamezone Miniatures.  They are a Spanish company that has been around since 2002, but I never purchased anything from them.

They have some rather tasty human types in their Empire and Feudal Knight line.  Their Feudal Knight line has several figures that would work great for Frostgrave.

Midlam Miniatures - Halflings

Just got in some samples of the Midlam Miniatures (http://www.midlamminiatures.co.uk) halfling set.  The figures look fantastic with almost zero flash.  The figures have round bases and the current of halflings comes from Midlam's Adventuring Folk line called the "Halfling Town Council".  You can buy all 8 in a set or individually.  The set is on sale for $15.52, a pretty good deal for some very colorful halflings.

The halflings match up really well with most other companies halflings.  If you are looking for a set to spice up a town, these will work perfectly.

Frostgrave Robbers, Thugs or Highwaymen

I am the process of trying to track down a few cool Robbers, Thugs or Highwaymen figures for Frostgrave.

Otherworld Miniatures has a fantastic human thug in their Non Player Character range called the NPCT7 – Tavern Bouncer.

I am still on the hunt for more guys like this.

Lead Adventure looks like they made some rather tasty thugs.  Not sure if these are still available, since they didn't show up in their store.  Could be out at the moment.

Citadel back in the day made some outstanding Thugs

 Warlord Games has a few interesting figures in there Pike & Shotte.

 

CP Models

Been trying to find some thugs for Frostgrave.

One warband I am working on are the Pig Orcs from Otherworld Miniatures.  While they have some fantastic pig orcs that I will be using for the Wizard & Apprentice, Knight and Marksman, I didn't think they had the exact figures I want for the thug selection.

CP Models has some that I think might workout.

Architects Of War - Fanticide

Just saw an interesting game called Fanticide. It's a ruleset and miniatures that look rather fun. It's by the same makers as the All Quiet on the Martian Front gaming system.

Wyrmwood Magnetic Dice Tower System

For those looking for a very cool dice tower, there is one currently on Kickstarter called the Wyrmwood Magnetic Dice Tower System that is about the best I have seen thus far.  You have variety of woods to choose from.


I chose the Snakewood version, because I just happen to have $1500 laying around to spend on such things.  Actually I am kidding, but hey if you're loaded spend away.
