Modiphius Entertainment, Achtung Cthulhu

Here are some tasty figures that are going to be coming out for a game called Achtung Cthulhu. You can find out all the dirty details at Modiphius Entertainment.

From what I read, Achtung Cthulhu is going to be skirmish level gaming based on Spartan Games Dystopian Legions ruleset.

Brother Vinni's Nuclear Sandlot

Here is a cool company called Brother Vinni. They have a line of 28mm Sci-Fi figures in their Nuclear Sandlot range that look quite cool.  The figures are resin and sell for €6.00 each.  Shipping is 6 euros and if you order 80 euros worth of stuff, shipping is free.

Heer46, E-50 E75

Just received some pretty slick tanks from Denis over at Heer46.  If you don't know, Denis has taken task to bring us some very cool tanks and vehicles from WWII. These were prototypes or pre-productions, but due to mechanical problems or resources or both were never manufactured or used on a wide scale.

The vehicles are 15mm and are completely compatible with Flames of War and Forged In Battle. Denis provided me with 2 very large German tanks in the E-50 and E-75 category.

Each tank comes in a nice cardboard box with foam. The tanks are a mixture of resin and metal. The Guns and a little antenna are metal. All other items (tracks, turret and hull) are resin.

The E-50 comes with a single barrel, while the E-75 came with 2.

I found that everything fits together nicely and I didn't have to file anything. I suppose if I was a perfectionist, I might try a little filing, but I thought everything looked good as is. The resin retains plenty of detail. I would rate Clockwork Goblins resin as the best standard I have seen. Heer46's resin is not as good as theirs IMO, but it looks good just the same.

The guns have square inserts and fit nicely when placed into the hulls. The Tracks had 3 tabs that fit to the hull and were super easy to attach. I like to use green stuff to hold the parts in place while the glue has time to dry.

The guns are huge on these beasts as you should be able to see in the pictures below.

Each Turret comes with a pretty long peg, but the E-75's turret + the gun make it a little top heavy, so you have a few options.  Get a really strong magnet set (this will require you to cut the peg), Glue the turret down or try to rig something underneath the turret to hold it in place with the peg still attached.  Another option is to chop the peg and add a new on that is longer,  You will still need to attach something to the end of the peg to keep the turret from coming off.

Eureka Miniatures - 15mm Sci-Fi

These guys have been out a while now, but I thought since I have been doing some 15mm Weird War or WWIII stuff now would be an appropriate time to display these again.

Even though they are Sci-Fi, I think they would still mix well with other Weird War 15mm figures. These were all sculpted by Mike Broadbent.

Clockwork Goblin Miniatures, German Light Mechpanzer Walker

Here is the Clockwork Goblin Miniatures German Light Mechpanzer Walker. I would probably call this the crab. It's a neat looking scout type walker with a main gun and a machine gun.

Clockwork Goblin Miniatures, US Grizzly

Here is the Clockwork Goblin Miniatures US heavy walker called the Grizzly. Of all the Clockwork Goblin Miniatures I assembled, I found this one the most difficult.

For the main gun, I had to drill out a hole. For the leg & arm attachments I used some green stuff along with glue. By green stuff I mean that modeling puddy or Kneadatite Epoxy Modeling Putty where you mix two colors (Usually yellow and blue, which when combined makes a green color.) The green stuff makes the parts stick to other parts and then allows the glue to dry.  I use this method a lot.  I suppose I could have also pinned the arms and legs, but the green stuff is much easier to use.

Clockwork Goblin Miniatures, US Coyote Light Walker

Here is Clockwork Goblin Miniatures Us Coyote Light Walker. Great looking resin / metal figure.

The Coyote body is resin and comes with an assortment of metal parts including 1 top mounted weapon (Browning M2 HMG), 2 arms and a search light and 2 other items I am not sure what the heck they are.  As you can see from the pictures below the the figure stands about twice the height of a power armored trooper.

Clockwork Goblin Miniatures, US Sherman Tesla Turrets

Here is the Clockwork Goblin Miniatures Tesla Turret that was designed for the US Sherman tank. The turret is built upon the M4A3 76mm turret and should be compatible with all manufacturers' hulls.  Below are some Battlefront Shermans and some of their turrets along with the Tesla turret.

Clockwork Goblin Miniatures - Heavy Mech Panzer Thor

Here are some close ups of the Clockwork Goblin Miniatures Heavy Mech Panzer named "Thor".  The vehicle retails for £15.50.  The resin and detail on this vehicle is top notch.  I plan on drilling a hole for the gun barrel and probably using magnets to attach the turret.  The legs fit nice and snug into the leg sockets (3rd image).  I would rate this vehicle a 9 or 10 based on what I have seen.  You will need to file off just a little bit of flash, but much.

Once this sucker is built, I will post up some comparison shots.

HeresyBrush - Painting Blog

I came across a really nice blog called HeresyBrush that has some fantastic painting tips.

Heer46 -

Denis at Heer46 has a cool little thing going with his 15mm tank and vehicle accessories.  Right now he has several designs out for various German prototype tanks that were on the design blocks, but maybe due to resources or other reasons were not massed produced.  These were the E-75 and E-100 series.  The E-100s are much larger than even the King Tigers.  With thick armor and massive guns.  These would have been terrifying behemoths for allied tanks to go up against.

Since many of these designs are a little off from what Flames Of Wars folks have been used to seeing, they fit perfectly into a Weird War or alternate WWII setting.  Check out and buy the Heer46 line or visit the Heer46 Blog

Clockwork Goblin Miniatures - Power Infantry

Currently all the infantry coming from Clockwork Goblin Miniatures are metal. The figures come on a long metal strip without metal bases like Flames Of War or Forged In Battle.  The figures came with lots of detail and just a little bit of flash that can easily be removed.  The figures look just right for power armor troopers, towering over normal infantry.

Here are a bunch of pictures of the Clockwork Goblin Miniatures (Heavy Infantry) that give you an idea of scale.

Dystopian Wars Prussian Metzger Walker.  I think it fits in perfectly with the Clockwork troopers.  I imagine it is driven by a walker crew of 2.

US Heavy Infantry, British Paratrooper (Flames of War), US Infantryman (Forged In Battle) and Maybe a Peter Pig British figure.

Clockwork Goblin Miniatures - Conflikt

The guys over at Clockwork Goblin Miniatures sent out some really great samples of their miniature line and I just received them. I don't have pictures yet, but I plan on posting some later tonight or early this week. If you like Alternate WWII or Weird WWII you will love their figures. Currently they have vehicles and troopers for both German and the US. The British will soon see some automated infantry. They have also created Quake turrets for Russian T-34s and for the Brits, shield turrets.

These turrets are great because they allow you to convert Flames of War, Forge In Battle or a host of other manufactures of 15mm WW2 vehicles into Alternate WWII killing machines.

While you wait, check out their beta rule set for them called Conflikt. http://www.clockworkgoblinminis.co.uk/downloads.html

Anyone who is into Fantasy WWI, might also want to checkout Hasslefree’s WW1 Halflings and Blackhat’s WW1 Goblin & Halfling ranges. I think these guys would certainly be perfect for them. Hmmm Maybe I should contact each company for a few samples for comparisons.
